All Time Low Encourage Fans to Adopt a Pet in Endearing ‘Sleeping In’ Video
If you're going through a heartbreak, All Time Low have the cure for you: A new pet.
The pop-rock group unveiled their new song "Sleeping In" on Thursday (Feb. 20), along with a video that initially sees all four All Time Low members getting dumped. But once frontman Alex Gaskarth gets the idea to adopt a furry friend, suddenly the whole group finds happiness again: Guitarist Jack Barakat goes for a dog, drummer Rian Dawson picks a Sphynx cat, bassist Zack Merrick finds a pal in a goldfish, and Gaskarth opts for a pony.
While the guys seemed to have a great time with their new pets, the "Sleeping In" video is more than just play time with cute animals. All Time Low partenered with the North Shore Animal League America (NSALA) to "help raise money and awareness for no kill rescue and adoption organizations," noted in a press release.
"When you know you need a friend, sometimes one with fur is the best bet," All Time Low wrote on Instagram. "Since Jack isn’t for sale, we ask that you look to your local rescue." The video, which was filmed at the NSALA shelter partner in Nashville, Metro Animal Care and Control (MACC), ends with the message "Adopt Don't Shop," followed by links to both MACC and NSALA.
"Sleeping In" is the second track released from All Time Low's forthcoming album, Wake Up, Sunshine, due April 3 Fueled By Ramen. The group announced the LP on Monday (Feb. 17), revealing the 15-song track list that includes collaborations with Blackbear and The Band Camino.
