Lakers Owner Jeanie Buss Shares Sexist, Racist Letter From a Fan, LeBron Responds

Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss is confronting racism after receiving a letter from a fan on Monday. The letter from a former fan named Joe attacks Buss and NBA players.

“Dear whore – After 60 years as a huge Lakers fan, I now say to hell with the overpaid n—er traitors and the NBA. Go to hell and join [expletive] Kobe Bryant,” the letter reads.

Buss responded in the caption on Instagram speaking directly to the 6 decade former fan. “To Joe: Did sending this letter make you feel better… Why don’t you look in the mirror and see your ugliness because I refuse to.”

Buss acknowledges that she has received this type of mail over the years and simply disregarded it, but on Juneteenth the owner of the most winningest franchise in NBA history wanted to address it directly.

Los Angeles Lakers Forward LeBron James responded to the post on his IG story saying simply “Love you Jeanie” and “[middle finger emoji] you Joe.”

King James has dealt with his own share of racism over the years. During the 2017 NBA finals, James and his family were subject to graffiti on their L.A. home with the N-word spray painted across their residence.

Buss added that Joe did not hide his return address and it seems that he even used his last name. It’s possible that Joe could see consequences if he decides to return to his favorite NBA team’s Staples Center for a game one day.
