Memphis born Duke Deuce returns to the scene with a hard-hitting anthem, “Soldiers Steppin”. A solid piece of ’90s-style traditional Southern rap music accompanied by dope visual.
“Soldiers Steppin” instantly enters the realm of crunk music built around military-style cadences. A tradition that includes Drama’s “Left Right Left,” JT Money’s “Who Dat,” and Lil Wyte’s “US Soldier Boy.” Over hard 808 drums, the record definitely stands out compared to other recent releases from other artists.
Duke Deuce solidified his status as a breakout star with “Crunk Ain’t Dead” and his 2020 project Memphis Massacre 2. As if that wasn’t enough, he decided to start 2021 out with “Soldiers Steppin”, which is definitely a banger.
