NBA YoungBoy Drops DJ Khaled-Hosted ‘DESHAWN’ Mixtape
NBA Youngboy is already spinning the block with a new release. This time, the prolific artist is collaborating with DJ Khaled. The mixtape is titled DESHAWN and only features Kevin Gates. The release serves as an official mixtape.
Just last week, NBA Youngboy has landed his 16th top 10 album on the Billboard 200 with MASA, debuting at No. 6 this week. The album moved 49,000 equivalent album units in its first week, including 48,000 in streaming units from over 69 million on-demand streams.
With this release, YoungBoy now ties hip-hop legends JAY-Z and Nas for the third-most top 10 albums among rap artists. He trails only Drake, who has 17, and Future, who leads with 18.
NBA Youngboy is saluting President Donald Trump. On his new album MASA, Youngboy expressed Trump’s moves are great for the young generation on the single “XXX”: “Make America Slimy Again/ Whatever Trump doin’, b—h, it’s good for the youngins.”
The album arrives as YoungBoy prepares to return to the stage for the first time in five years with the Make America Slime Again tour.
The Baton Rouge native continues to dominate modern hip-hop with raw emotion, unfiltered storytelling, and relentless output. YoungBoy holds the title as the most RIAA-certified rapper of the decade, boasting over 109 certifications and 30 billion global streams. He is the youngest artist to chart 100 entries on the Billboard Hot 100 and has more gold-certified songs than Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, and Michael Jackson combined.
On Spotify, he has surpassed 9 billion streams, and his YouTube channel has more than 16 billion views—outranking even Drake and Taylor Swift.
In support of MASA, the Grammy-nominated rapper will embark on his first-ever headlining arena tour this fall. Produced by Live Nation, the Make America Slime Again tour kicks off in September in Dallas and now includes 13 additional dates due to overwhelming demand. DeeBaby, EBK Jaaybo, and K3 will join as special guests.
