Iron Maiden Will Not Attend Their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction

A Logistical Conflict

Iron Maiden was recently announced as a 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, but the legendary metal band will not be in attendance at the ceremony this November. According to a statement from the band’s manager, Rod Smallwood, the decision is purely logistical.

“As the most observant have already noticed, the band will be on tour in Australia around the November date of the Induction ceremony for the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in Los Angeles,” Smallwood told Billboard in an email. “In accepting, Iron Maiden made it very clear to the R&R HoF that the fans always come first and that the shows will of course go on.”

Prioritizing the Fans

While Smallwood’s statement does not explicitly rule out the possibility of a representative from the Iron Maiden camp appearing on their behalf, the band’s schedule makes a personal appearance at the Los Angeles event effectively impossible. The group is slated to perform in Australia on Nov. 13 and Nov. 15, directly bookending the ceremony.

Smallwood emphasized that the band’s primary commitment remains to their 2026 tour schedule. “We would like to assure all our fans in Australasia that the Australian and New Zealand dates will remain unaffected,” he continued, “and we look forward to bringing the Run For Your Lives Tour to them on the penultimate stop of our 50th anniversary celebrations.”

A Consistent Stance

This latest announcement echoes a sentiment shared by the band on social media earlier this week when the inductees were first revealed. The band expressed gratitude for the recognition, noting that while it is an honor to be included in the roll call, their relationship with their fanbase remains their highest priority.

“Iron Maiden have always been about our relationship with our fans above anything else, including awards and industry accolades,” the band stated. “However, having said that, it’s always nice to be recognized and honored for any achievements within the music industry too!”
