ScHoolboy Q Says New Album Is Coming This Year: ‘I’m Not Lying This Time!’

London, UK – ScHoolboy Q recently took the stage at London’s O2 Academy Brixton where he vowed to drop a follow-up album to CrasH Talk. The Top Dawg Entertainment artist said he’s been working on the project since CrasH Talk arrived last April.

“I’ma constantly be here bruh, I’m not lying to you, I swear to God,” he said. “I’ma drop a whole other album this year, I promise you that. I promise you that, I’m not lying this time! And I’m the most lying-ist muthafucka ever! I’ll drop next month. Yeah right. Nigga, I’m dropping an album this year, I promise you that.

“I’ve been working on this album since CrasH Talk came out. I been working nonstop. I constantly work because I’m hungry and I love to create. And every time when I come out and I see my fans, it makes me appreciate this shit way more than what it is.”

Q has released five studio albums during the course of his career, beginning with 2011’s Setbacks.

He’s also received five Grammy Award nominations — one for his contributions to Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ 2014 album The Heist in the Album of the Year category, one for 2015’s “Studio” featuring BJ The Chicago Kid in the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration category, another for 2015’s Oxymoron in the Best Rap Album category, one for the 2017 Blank Face LP in the Best Rap Album category and finally, another for “That Part” featuring Kanye West in the Best Rap Performance category.

CrasH Talk debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 upon its release, selling roughly 81,000 total album equivalent units in its first week. It marked Q’s third Top 10 Billboard album.
