Alexandra Beck Takes the Stage with New Music Video “Hit This”

Rising pop star Alexandra Beck just dropped her first official music video, “Hit This,” and it’s serving glam, grit, and early-2000s energy with a fresh twist. From the prairies of Saskatchewan to the pulse of Los Angeles, Alexandra Beck is bringing a new voice—and attitude—to the pop scene. We sat down with her to talk about the moments behind the camera, the duality in her music, and what it really means to be “a spicy Pisces.” Buckle up—this isn’t your average debut.

Q: “Hit This” marks your first official music video—what was the very first shot you filmed, and how did it feel standing in front of the camera in that moment?

A: Lip-syncing in the purple hallway. It felt exciting and slightly awkward because, honestly, I’d never really lip-synced until that moment.

Q: You’re originally from Saskatchewan and now based in L.A.—what part of you is still Saskatoon at heart, and what part of you is pure California pop?

A: I love this question. The part of me that is most Saskatoon is genuine and super friendly, with an outgoing energy. I’m proud to come from what some people call the kindest part of Canada—it’s so true.

But my music taste is so LA. I’ve always thought that a catchy pop song is far superior to anything more esoteric or artsy. Pop songs are king because they get those earworms in the ears of everyone on the globe—and I believe that’s what I’m about to deliver to the globe.

Q: Your fans know you as kind until pushed too far. How does that duality show up in your music and performance style?

A: My music is so feel-good most of the time, but it bites back when I’m angry. It gets so sexy that you can’t approach me when I need to feel like someone’s done me wrong. It gives power ballads when I’m feeling strong, yet it gives feminine sweetness with delicate soft vocals when I’m feeling reflective. What can I say? I’m a spicy Pisces.

Q: If “Hit This” were a person walking into the club, what would they be wearing, and what kind of energy would they bring?

A: A lacy, slightly see-through one-piece, a Beyoncé-level blowout, and glam makeup from Elena Treyakova. Very sexy, but also the life of the party.

Q: You draw from the golden era of early 2000s pop. If you could time travel to one iconic music video set from that time, whose would it be and why?

A: Of course, “Hit Me Baby One More Time” or “Love on Top.” They were both iconic & defining moments in pop culture; they are both pop stars who are great dancers too.

Q: You’ve performed everywhere from Lincoln Center to The Viper Room—what venue best matches your current musical vibe, and which one challenged you the most?

A: Honestly, none of them you listed😂. “Hit This” marks a more dance-forward stage vibe for the brand. It’s giving stadium season, baby.

Q: What’s something you included in the “Hit This” music video that only your real fans will notice?

A: Who Marissa Heart is and why I chose to have her choreograph it.

Q: You’ve got this high-glam, high-energy style—how would you describe your fashion in three words, and what’s the fourth word you secretly want to add?

A: Sexy, Sassy, Fun. 4th word: Sophisticated
