BET has been rolling out their annual awards show on social media revealing the host for this year. The 2020 BET Awards will be hosted by comedian Amanda Seales.
The I Be Knowin’ comedian posted the news on her Instagram Monday for the show going down June 28th on BET. The opportunity is a big one for the comedian/actress who recently decided not to renew her contract with The Real, which she hosted since January.
“Shout to everyone who wasn’t a dick [about] me hosting the BET Awards. It’s gonna be a beautiful, funny, blackidy black time and I’m honored to celebrate with y’all,” Seales wrote on Twitter. This is the second year in a row the BET Awards will be hosted by a Black woman. Last year comedic actress Regina Hall hosted.
The announcement of her hosting gig comes as HBO wraps up the 4th season of Insecure a show produced by Issa Rae that Seales stars in as a character named Tiffany.
