Cakeswagg Flaunts Female Power In Recent “Big Plays” Video
Traveling back to the roaring twenties, Cakeswagg, one of Boston’s hottest Hip Hop acts, introduces people to the golden age of Jazz with her music video for “Big Plays.” Thanks to her forward-looking visions and innovative ideas, the rapper forges ahead and further establishes her place in the music community.
Cakeswagg’s strong position in the industry empowers other women artists to pursue and advance their careers. She reveals: “Representing the Boston hip-hop scene always feels really good, especially as a woman, being able to showcase and represent the talent and individuality that we have here. Here at home it always feels good to be loved, appreciated and respected.”
Working together with fellow rappers, Cakeswagg admits: “The most Exciting Collab I’ve had so far would be the mixtape I dropped with my DJ, DJ WhySham. It was one of the first female collaborative efforts for a full length project we’ve had in my city and just all the love and support we received behind it was encouraging. I would love to collaborate with Chance the Rapper and Tierra Whack in the future, those are two of my favorite artists.”
“Big Plays” is a turning point in Cakeswagg’s ever-evolving career. The accompanying video, shot by Clips Films, reflects the artist’s new beginning and constant effort to become better in her craft. She owns her brilliance, singing: “This ain’t no pop smoke but still f*cking shaking/ And you prolly won’t last if you hesitating/ Cuz don’t nobody hold the crown so that shits for the taking.”
The Boston native has a lot in store for the coming months. Following “Big Plays,” Cakeswagg plans to drop a full-length album and a new single. Although the details haven’t been revealed yet, fans are already excited to hear more about the project and can’t wait to hear the rapper’s future bangers.
