Dixie Chicks Tease ‘Gaslighter’ Video

It looks like the Dixie Chicks really are gearing up to release their first new album since 2006. And just in time for an election year. The country trio's Natalie Maines posted a series of teaser pics over the weekend from what appears to be the video shoot for a song entitled "Gaslighter." The pics on the Chicks' Instagram show Maines along with bandmates Martie Maguire and Emily Strayer drinking wine through a straw along with the hashtags #gaslighter and #dcx2020, suggesting that a new album is coming this year.

Maines shared the same images as well, with the additional tags #verysoon and #musicvideo. A spokesperson for the group could not be reached for additional comment at press time. Back in September, Maines told the Spiritualgasm podcast that she had "a lot to say" on the long-awaited follow-up to 2006's Taking the Long Way.

“Songwriting is really hard for me, and I think for many years, I didn’t want to analyze my life or my relationship," she said of the collection partially inspired by her divorce from actor Adrian Pasdar. "I was just in it and dedicated and devoted, and if I had started writing songs about it … I don’t want to say I was in a ‘survival mode,’ but I was just not ready to open up like that.” The trio has been teasing the album for more than a year, including in posts from the studio with producer Jack Antonoff. Taking the Long Way debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart and went on to win Grammys including album of the year and best country album.
