The #MeToo Movement has ended another career from Fox News. This time, it’s morning co-host Ed Henry who has reportedly been terminated from the news network. Henry was the host of the Fox News broadcast America’s Newsroom.
“On Thursday, June 25, we received a complaint about Ed Henry from a former employee’s attorney involving willful sexual misconduct in the workplace years ago,” Fox News chief executive Suzanne Scott and President Jay Wallace wrote in an email to employees according to CNN.
The complaint was investigated by network leadership and seems to have been proven true leading to the immediate firing of the anchor. Henry has not yet made a public comment about his firing.
Henry is one of several Fox News employees who has been let go for sexual misconduct in the workplace. Former O’Reilly Factor host Bill O’Reilly was fired from his prime time slot for the same accusations and former CEO Roger Ailes was fired in 2016 for sexual assault.
Sexual misconduct has not been exclusive to the conservative news network. Former CBS News Anchor Charlie Rose was let go from his co-hosting job on CBS This Morning after a The Washington Post report revealed 3 of his former employees had been sexually harassed by the long time journalist.
Former Today Show Anchor Matt Lauer was also let go from NBC in 2017 after a series of sexual harassment and assault claims were reported against the anchor dating back as far as 2001.
