DVSN knows how to slink melodies back to back, allowing fans to appreciate the little details that artists deliver in their craft.

Since 2017, Daniel Daley and Nineteen85 have continued to grow and develop as artists under Drake’s OVO Sound music group. The Toronto R&B duo is keeping the genre fresh with a new sound. On Friday (January 15), they dropped Amusing Her Feelings, a deluxe version of their 2020 album A Muse In Her Feelings. In addition to four new tracks, DVSN exudes modern r&b, glowing with vivacity, overflowing with sick beats and memorable melodies.

The duo first announced a deluxe project towards the end of 2020 by releasing their gospel-influenced “Blessings.” On Thursday (January 7), they unveiled “Use Somebody,” a cover of the rock band Kings of Leon’s 2008 Grammy-winning same-titled song and an exclamation of the rock band’s music “Sex On Fire,” which fills up your soul.

“I’ve been roaming around / Always looking down and all I see / Painted faces fill the places / I can’t reach / You know that I could use somebody,” Daley sings in the first verse. The project features Miguel, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Jessie Reyez, Future, Buju Banton, Popcaan, Summer Walker, Snoh Aalegra, and Shantel May.

As DVSN is single-handedly keeping the mainstream R&B game afloat, they described their project as “The story of A Muse In Her Feelings was always broken into chapters… Amusing Her Feelings is just one of the untold chapters that led to where we were on “No Good.”

During an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music, Daniel Daley spoke about the process of creating Amusing Her Feelings as well as the Miguel feature.

“These records were records that we had while we were… the ideas of the beginnings of while we were creating A Muse in Her Feelings. So some of them just didn’t get done,” said Daley. “We didn’t get that Miguel verse until afterward. We knew we were saving it for the right collaboration. Records like ‘Blessings’ got a whole new facelift from 85 because when we started with it on a production level, he just took a whole new approach to it and brought it to life in a completely different way. That sample the gospel sample the way it’s flipped wasn’t wasn’t like that before. So a bunch of things that we did were things that were happening right as the album was beginning to roll out. And we were like, ‘Could we try to rush this to try to throw them on? Or do we just hold it for the right time?’ But it was still a part of the same, I guess, mindset that went into the original album.”

Last month (December 17), DVSN tweeted “AMUSING HER FEELINGS, I’M USING HER FEELINGS, A MUSE IN HER FEELINGS”, which already has fans hinting that they could be working on another project soon.

I’m Using Her Feelings is such a clever album title to play off of their previous albums. However, will it be the fourth installment of DVSN’s project? In the meantime, listen to Amusing Her Feelings below.
