GloRilla Unites Hip-Hop and Gospel in Uplifting “RAIN DOWN ON ME” Video

GloRilla blends rap power with spiritual praise in the new music video for “RAIN DOWN ON ME,” featuring gospel legends Kirk Franklin, Kierra Sheard, Chandler Moore, and Maverick City Music. Directed by Benny Boom, the visual showcases joy and redemption, highlighting acts of kindness, healing, and baptism under radiant skies.
The song, from her RIAA Gold-certified album GLORIOUS, topped Billboard’s Hot Gospel Songs chart and earned Glo her first BET Award, winning Best Inspirational Performance. “It’s a blessing to get the gospel award first because I owe it all to God,” she said during her emotional acceptance speech. At the ceremony, she stunned with a theatrical medley of “LET HER COOK” and her latest single “Typa,” joined by Keyshia Cole and dancers in mobster-era fashion.
“Typa” recently became Glo’s 13th Hot 100 entry and her seventh Top 10 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Her global presence also continues to rise, with “Killin’ It Girl,” her collaboration with j-hope, pulling 25 million Spotify streams in its first week.
Following standout performances at Summer Jam and Birthday Bash, GloRilla is set for the 2025 ESSENCE Festival before launching her hometown Glo Bash in Memphis on July 25.
Her debut album GLORIOUS, released under CMG and Yo Gotti’s guidance, debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 and became the best-selling female rap album of 2024. With hit collaborations alongside Megan Thee Stallion, Sexyy Red, T-Pain, and Tyler, The Creator, GloRilla’s momentum shows no signs of slowing.
