Here’s Which University Won $25,000 in Young Thug’s ‘Hot’ Battle of the Bands Challenge

Back in October, Young Thug launched the "Hot" Battle of the Bands Challenge to coincide with the Gunna-assisted anthem off his So Much Fun album. The white flag was finally waved on Thursday (Jan. 23), as Thugger and Kevin Liles of 300 Entertainment announced that Florida A&M University's marching band would be taking home the $25,000 victory.

Thugger couldn't be in attendance to present the lucrative check to the students, but he did relay a video message, which can be watched here. "Congratulations for winning the HBCU "Hot" Challenge," he said. "You guys won $25,000. That's very, very good — very, very great. I'm sorry I couldn't be there, but I want you to stay in school and keep making good grades. Slatt!"

"Our support of the HBCU creative community will never waiver," Liles added. "They are our future leaders, engineers, artists, entrepreneurs, and we recognize the importance of a collaborative environment that understands their social DNA, while at the same time challenges them to dream bigger, work harder and focus on what really matters. Education is power, entrepreneurship is key, and ownership should be our driving force."

The $25,000 prize will go toward benefitting the school's music department and marching band program. "Hot" sits at No. 31 on the Hot 100 after spending the last five months on the chart.
