J.I.D Announces Fourth Album ‘God Does Like Ugly’

GRAMMY-nominated and platinum-selling rapper J.I.D. has revealed the title and release date for his highly anticipated fourth studio album. The project, dynamically titled God Does Like Ugly, is now available for pre-order and will be released this summer on August 8th.

In anticipation of the album, J.I.D. also shared a brief visual, depicting scenes from a seemingly lost world with stylistic nods to iconic films like The Warriors and Mad Max, all set against the familiar backdrop of Atlanta. Speaking about the upcoming release, J.I.D. shared a personal reflection:

“Starting this new journey coming off The Forever Story has been a very strange, productive yet tedious process, but I live my life by the saying ‘You can only control what you can control.’ So this is the first step into a new world that I control. And. It’s. F*cking. UGLY.”

This album announcement follows the recent release of J.I.D’s energetic track “WRK,” which Hypebeast hailed as the start of a new era for the artist. Produced by GRAMMY winner Pluss and longtime collaborator Christo, “WRK” showcases J.I.D’s signature rapid-fire delivery, clever wordplay, and dynamic vocal shifts, captivating listeners throughout the three-minute track.
