
Jade de LaFleur Releases New Single “Sweet Love”
Jade de Lafleur is a versatile singer, actress, and performer from Louisiana whose artistic journey began at the age of five, inspired by her mother’s role as a church choir soloist. She gained early recognition as a member of the girl group Sophia Fresh, signing with J Records and later T-Pain/Atlantic Records. While pursuing her music career, she earned a B.A. in Mass Communications from Prairie View A&M University, where she studied theatre.
After her time with Sophia Fresh, Jade toured globally as a background singer and dancer for Solange Knowles, refining her stage presence. She later debuted as a solo artist with the acclaimed EP Jaded, featuring the song “Smoking In My Car,” co-written with James Fauntleroy. Her music was also featured on Solange’s Saint Heron compilation, further establishing her reputation in the industry.
Beyond music, Jade has made an impact in acting, originating the role of “Miss Mississippi” in P-Valley and securing roles in television, including Marvel’s Luke Cage. Her latest album, The Green Horse, blends funk, pop, and R&B, pushing creative boundaries with singles like “Shotgun,” “Toxic,” and “Wave” featuring Seun Kuti. Recently, she released a soulful rendition of Anita Baker’s Sweet Love, highlighting her vocal range and emotional depth.
