Khamari Explores Emotional Distance in New Single “Sycamore Tree”
Rising R&B artist Khamari has released his latest single, “Sycamore Tree,” the second offering from his upcoming sophomore album, due later this summer. The track thoughtfully interpolates D’Angelo’s classic “Untitled (How Does It Feel),” with the neo-soul legend’s blessing.
“Sycamore Tree” blends soft guitar, smooth basslines, and swelling horns to deliver a poignant meditation on love and detachment. Khamari sings, “Sycamore Tree, your branches hang over me. So hauntingly. Should I stay or should I leave?” capturing the emotional push and pull of loving someone distant.
In a statement, Khamari said the song reflects how subtle emotional weight can slowly consume someone. “It’s deeply rooted, yet always just out of reach,” he explained. The accompanying visualizer shows him pacing under the shadow of a tree, torn between holding on and letting go.
“Sycamore Tree” further cements Khamari’s reputation as one of R&B’s most introspective and sonically rich new voices.
