Kylie Minogue, Tierra Whack, Little Mix Set For Brazil’s All-Female GRLS! Festival
The March festival in São Paulo will feature a program of music, lectures and workshops addressing “relevant causes of the female universe.”
Kylie Minogue, Tierra Whack and Little Mix are among the artists slated to perform at an all-female line up at GRLS!, a new festival from leading Brazilian promoter Time For Fun set for March 7 and 8 in São Paulo. In addition to music, the event will include a program of workshops and lectures, curated by Brazilian music platform Popload, that will address “relevant causes of the female universe.”
“Our main goal was to design a festival made by women and non-binaries, but that would lead to an all-gender debate over the role and representation of women in our culture,” Paola Wescher, artistic director of T4F and a partner in Popload said in a statement. “Women always have to try harder, impose themselves more and achieve more to be respected. We have many strong women in all sectors of the music industry, both on stage and behind the scenes, making everything happen. We want to amplify these voices and be a milestone in this regard.”
Brazilian pop singer Gaby Amarantos, singer and actress Linn da Quebrada and Latin Grammy nominee and current The Voice Brasil judge Iza are also scheduled to perform at the GRLS! Festival.
