Beres Hammond serenaded a virtual crowd at his #LoveFromADistance virtual concert hosted by VP Records.
The iconic Lovers Rock singer went through a slew of timeless hits including “Rock Away,” “I Feel Good,” and more.
This marks Beres’ first performance since the pandemic. He was forced to postpone his annual Love and Harmony cruise with headlining performances by himself, Nadine Sutherland, Buju Banton, Beenie Man, and more.
Love and Harmony announced that they’re set to sail in April 2022.
But the #LoveFromaDistance virtual show supplemented for the postponed event. The 65-year-old put together a virtual event that was nothing short of legendary. The star-studded event saw guest appearances by Marcia Griffith, Buju Banton, and Popcaan.

In an interview following the two-hour performance, Beres says he feels “good” and “warm” about the future of Jamaican music. When speaking of the future leading voices of the genre, the reggae veteran said, “I’m going to do whatever I can do to make sure them have a platform, them have my platform.
