Mark Ronson Promises We’ll Hear New Miley Cyrus Collab ‘Whenever Mama Says It’s OK’
Are you ready for more heartbreak? Mark Ronson tweeted out a sneak preview of his next collaboration with Miley Cyrus on Tuesday (Jan. 7), hinting that the dynamic duo have another smash in the works. "If 2019 was for the break, 2020 is for the breaker’s. Right, @MileyCyrus?"
Ronson said he is "very psyched" for fans to hear the pair's next banger, but said he has to wait until "mama says it's ok." The tweet was accompanied by a grainy, VHS-like 17-second video of Cyrus in red pants, a blue "I Am Here" crop top and tons of bling making wordless sounds over a banging beat and the message "new era starts now" on the screen.
Cyrus recently unveiled her new mullet-y haircut with the message, "New hair. New year. NEW MUSIC." In another clue, Cyrus kicked off the new year with a 10-minute video rewind of the previous decade that also featured the "2020 New Era Starts Now" in which she wore an, wait for it, "I Am Here" crop top. Same footage. Coincidence? Probably not.
Spokespeople for Cyrus and Ronson could not be reached for comment at press time.
The singer teamed up with Ariana Grande and Lana Del Rey on "Don't Call Me Angel" from 2019's Charlie's Angels reboot and released the single "Slide Away" to close out the year after teasing that her seventh album, She is Miley Cyrus, would be comprised of three six-song EPs, with She is Coming dropping on May 31, 2019; release dates for the other two, and the full length, have not yet been announced.
Ronson and Cyrus's first collaboration, "Nothing Breaks Like a Heart," was released in Nov. 2018 and appeared on his Late Night Feelings album.
