The 26th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards launched Sunday night at Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium. Among the night’s highlights were the win for Parasite in Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. It makes the film the first foreign language film to win the award.
In the television counterpart, it was Amazon’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel that won as an outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series for the second year in a row. In the same category for drama, The Crown took home the prize.
Individually, Joaquin Phoenix continues to clean up the circuit as he took home yet another award for best actor for his role in Joker. Renée Zellweger joined him in winning best actress for Judy.
