Selena Gomez Is Right at Home Among Rainbows and Butterflies in Delightful ‘Rare’ Watch
She's so rare! Selena Gomez unveiled the iridescent video for her new single "Rare" on Friday (Jan. 10).
In the BRTHR-directed bvisual, the pop star wanders through a fanstastical forest filled with prismatic rainbows, bubbles and glittering spiderwebs while wearing a golden halter-top dress fit for a goddess. (Later in the clip, she poses vampily on a rotating bed as techicolor butterflies float around her.)
"It feels like you don't care/ Why don't you recognize I'm so rare?/ Always there/ You don't do the same for me/ That's not fair/ I don't have it all, I'm not claiming to/ But I know that I'm special, yeah/ And I'll bet there's somebody else out there/ To tell me I'm rare, to make me feel rare," she sings on the track's hypnotic chorus, as she reminds a disappointing lover of her inviolable worth.
The sparkling single serves as the title track to Gomez's long-anticipated third studio album, and follows No. 1 hit "Lose You To Love Me" and similarly confident dance-pop jam "Look At Her Now."
