SHAVONE. Drops Bold “Peekaboo” Freestyle, Launches BLONDE YAKI Era

Following the success of her debut book BLACK INTERNET EFFECT, SHAVONE. returns to the music scene with the premiere of her BLONDE YAKI “Peekaboo” freestyle video and Dot Pack. The release comes on the heels of her standout performance at LA’s SHIFT CTRL Juneteenth event and marks a new chapter in her artistic evolution.

The “Peekaboo” freestyle is a fearless reinterpretation of Kendrick Lamar’s original, layered with SHAVONE.’s signature bars and live flute melodies. A nod to her classical training, the track is a powerful tribute to her Southeast San Diego roots and Black creative excellence.

Co-directed by SHAVONE., the video includes cameos from rapper Tiny Doo and FOC’s Kelvyn Colt, grounding the visual in her community. Visually, SHAVONE. debuts her BLONDE YAKI era, honoring the legacy of Black beauty in the ’90s and 2000s.

Released through her Future of Creatives platform, this drop showcases SHAVONE.’s commitment to empowering underrepresented voices. The accompanying Dot Pack includes a second freestyle, “MORTICIA,” over Kendrick’s “Watch the Party Die,” further highlighting her lyrical dexterity and sonic range.

The drop kicks off a summer of freestyles, new music, and cultural programming, proving SHAVONE. remains a boundary-breaking voice in music, tech, and fashion.
