Single Review: Alex “JuJu” Martin shares a perfect slice of contemporary R&B/hip-hop with the new track ‘Ride.’

With an unstoppably good flow, razor-sharp production, and Juju’s vocals holding things together, ‘Ride’ makes for delightful listening.

LA-based R&B singer/rapper Alex ‘JuJu’ Martin has shared his latest single, ‘Ride,’ as he continues growing his presence as a high-streaming artist and an exciting, dynamic live performer.

Martin, known to friends and fans as a “software salesman turned rapper,” originally moved from his hometown of Chicago to LA to find work as a mechanical engineer.

Even though he found a steady job, his talents as a singer/songwriter meant he always kept his music dreams on the back burner. With the support of his friend and producer Christian ‘C DeVon’ Scott, Alex began performing and sharing his tracks a few years ago. With each subsequent release – from 2022’s ‘Honey’ to this year’s ‘Show Out’ – and with each live performance, he steadily built his fanbase.

Alex’s latest single, ‘Ride,’ is his most clinically produced track, with head-bopping synths and smooth basslines giving it a rich texture. Against this backdrop, the singer sounds euphoric, animated, and on form as he uses his one-in-a-million voice to seduce a woman and her crew to hop up in his whip.

Look no further if you’re looking for a carefree contemporary R&B with a rap element.
