Slash Says Music Industry Changes Make Guns N’ Roses ‘Not Really Sure’ About Next Album
Guns N' Roses are working on some new music, but they are grappling with all the new ways to consume music in 2020.
In a new interview with Guitars.com, legendary guitarist Slash was chatting about his new Gibson guitar collection before delving into GNR updates. "There’s been no definitive answer on anything and I’ll just keep keep to that. Stuff is happening, but there are no specifics," he explained.
"More than anything, it’s because of the nature of the industry right now," he continued. "It’s just like, how do you want to do this? I mean there’s material and there’s recording and there’s shit going on, but we’re not really sure what we’re doing with it right now.”
When the interviewer noted that the music world now is "a lot different" than when the band released their last record, 2008's Chinese Democracy, Slash agreed. "And there’s a handful people who said, ’Yeah, make a record and go old school’. And there’s a handful of people that are like, 'We don’t even know what buying a record is any more!’”
As it stands, GNR fans might have to wait a little longer for some new rock tunes. In the meantime, read Slash's interview and check out his new guitar collection here.
