Derrick Henry just got a big bag from the Tennessee Titans after an outstanding 2019-2020 season. The fourth-year running back signed a $50 million extension on Wednesday with $25.5 million guaranteed.
The Tennessee Titans had a very successful season making it to the AFC Championship game knocking off Tom Brady and the Patriots on the way. Credit has largely gone to Henry who in the regular season ran for 1540 yards and 16 touchdowns.
In the Titans two playoff wins against the Patriots and Ravens, Henry ran for 184 yards on 34 carries and 195 yards on 30 carries respectively. Henry’s bell cow workload prompted fans to demand a huge contract for the former Alabama Crimson Tide rusher.
The Titans took care of their veteran QB Ryan Tannehill first who landed a 4-year $118 million contract with the Titans. Some of Henry’s teammates reacted to his new deal on social media.
