The coronavirus is currently putting up large numbers in Texas as Governor Greg Abbott has announced a new daily high for the state, according to CNN.
The rise in cases is believed to be linked to an assisted living facility near Dallas and the near Austin area. The state had 2,622 new cases on Tuesday. The previous record was on June 10 where the state saw 2,504 new cases.
“Even though there are more people hospitalized, we still remain at the lowest threat level to our hospital capacity,” he said. The state currently has nearly 15,000 beds available.
The rise in pandemic numbers is not limited to Texas, as Arizona is seeing a rise in numbers. On Tuesday, Arizona recorded 2,392 new cases, making their total 39,097.
