Residente will join the Los Angeles Philharmonic for their “Power to the People!” festival this year

The Puerto Rican rapper and former Calle 13 lead singer is confirmed to perform at the Walt Disney Concert Hall on March 7 singing his empowering and social-justice-oriented tracks along with an orchestra directed by Venezuelan L.A. Phil conductor Gustavo Dudamel. “I will be performing all of my songs, from the early days until now along with the L.A. Philharmonic. I love you, L.A.,” Residente announced in a video posted on Instagram.

It’s not the first time Residente and Dudamel, who made his debut with the L.A. Phil in 2005, have collaborated. In 2011, Calle 13 performed their award-winning “Latinoamérica” to open the awards show. The performance was backed by the Venezuelan symphony orchestra conducted by Dudamel.

Power to the People is a festival presented in collaboration with the California African American Museum.
