Track of the Week: Spence Lee’s “Foundation”

Spence Lee is the newest artist to join the EarDrummer family, spearheaded by famed producer Mike Will Made It. Hailing from New Jersey, the rising star has created his own lane in the rap game, with the intention of motivating and inspiring the masses that they too can make their wildest dreams come true.

Today, Spence Lee returns with his newest single and visual called “Foundation.” Following his previous releases “Spend My Days” and “White Tee,” this new song sees Spence asserting his dominance and showcasing his talents as a recording artist.

Lyrics like “God and my family is my foundation, I don’t make any moves out of desperation,” showcase Spence Lee’s personal values. “Foundation” is paired with a cinematic visual directed by Jason Ano, and filmed in Saigon, Vietnam. From sharing meals with locals to riding motorcycles to visiting beautiful landscapes next to the water, Spence Lee brings the song to life as he reflects on his journey thus far in the music industry.

“Foundation” was produced by a powerhouse trio: Lifted of the Eardrummers, MaxFlames, and Lucian. The result is a classic Southern slow trap beat with an Asian flare. The video does a great job of showcasing the spirit of Vietnam, as well as Spence Lee’s own cultural identity.

Spence Lee is also signed to 88rising, proud to represent his Chinese and Vietnamese heritage with every release.
