Watch Green Day Perform ‘Oh Yeah!’ and Explain What It’s Like to Be Rock Dads on ‘Corden’

‘We’ve known Weezer forever and Fall Out Boy, they’re our children.’

Happy Green Day Week — the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers dropped their 13th studio album Father of All… last Friday and last night (Feb. 10) the publicity trail brought them to James Corden's Late Late Show

Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool — along with their expanded live band — rocked out their current single "Oh Yeah!" for the late night crowd, enlisting the reinforcements to add extra umph to the gang harmonies of each chorus. It's good practice for Green Day's upcoming touring schedule, which will take them across North American stadiums with Fall Out Boy and Weezer

The Hella Mega Tour was a topic of discussion when Green Day made it over to Corden's couch to chat it up with the host. "We've known Weezer forever and Fall Out Boy, they're our children," laughed Armstrong. "It's nice to hang out with your kids." Cool also spoke on the band's influence over the years: “We’re basically an older, less mature Green Day and we’ve thrown our seed all around the world. So there’s gonna be kids.”

Armstrong also joked about how they almost kinda-sorta wanted to call their new album American Idiot Part Two before landing on the current title. And how it was actually him who drew the cartoon unicorn that's on the cover and all over every graphic associated with Hella Mega.
