Will Smith Announces First Album in Over 20 Years, ‘Based on a True Story,’ Out March 28

Will Smith is officially stepping back into the music spotlight. The GRAMMY-winning artist and actor announced his first full-length album in over two decades, Based on a True Story, set to drop March 28. The 14-track project will feature collaborations with DJ Jazzy Jeff, Teyana Taylor, and Jac Ross, and includes previously released singles like “First Love,” “TANTRUM,” and “You Can Make It.”

This week, Smith joined GRAMMY-winner Doechii in a viral social video dancing to her hit “Anxiety,” using a throwback scene from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air to fuel the trend.

“You Can Make It,” featuring Fridayy and the Sunday Service Choir, recently earned Smith a No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Gospel Airplay Chart, marking a powerful return to the charts ahead of his album release.
