When the first season of Wu-Tang: An American Saga wrapped and aired, the serial music drama received critical acclaim and commercial fanfare.
Now that season 2 is on the horizon, Executive Producer and series creator RZA spoke with Rolling Stone and gave a sneak peek into what audiences can expect in the saga of arguably one of music’s most influential groups. Too much excitement RZA revealed the second season will zero in on the group coming together to record Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), the group’s iconic and groundbreaking debut album.
“I think one big thing is that in season we rarely touched into the recording of 36 Chambers…there are certain things that happened in that studio that are hilarious, that’s the caption of our youth, and also that’s iconic,” RZA said. “This season is gonna be even more unpredictable but layered into the fun of what 36 Chambers mean to so many people around the world.”
Hulu has not confirmed airdate as of yet for season 2 of Wu-Tang: An American Saga but fans are certainly going to anticipate the series pulling back the curtain on one of the stories behind the creation of one of the greatest Hip-Hop albums of all time. The series stars Ashton Sanders as The RZA and Shameik Moore as Raekwon. Erika Alexander, Dave East, Siddiq Saunderson, Marcus Callender, Zolee Griggs, Johnell Young, Julian Elijah Martinez, and more also appear.
