Poll: What’s the Best Van Halen Song With David Lee Roth?
What's the best Van Halen song with David Lee Roth? That’s what we want to find out from you in this week’s Loudwire Nights Artist of the Week poll!
Each week, we’ll be asking you to choose your favorite track from a list of 10 of the biggest songs from the next Artist of the Week's catalog.
You'll have until Friday at 12N ET to cast your votes. We’ll then play the three tracks with the most votes during Loudwire Nights' Artist of the Week block to start the following Monday's show!
This week, our featured artist is Van Halen — but with Roth on vocals. The band was formed by brothers Eddie and Alex Van Halen, who moved to Pasadena, Calif. from Amsterdam in 1962. After recruiting Roth and bassist Michael Anthony, they called themselves Mammoth, after they realized the name Genesis was already taken.
Eventually the group decided to go by Van Halen instead, and the sound they created was like nothing anyone had ever heard before, especially Eddie Van Halen's exceptional guitar playing. They released six albums with Roth on vocals between 1978 and 1984.
Due to internal issues amongst the members, Roth left Van Halen, but he reunited with them in 2007. Five years later, the rockers released A Different Kind of Truth, which served as their final studio album. Eddie Van Halen tragically died in October of 2020 after a long battle with cancer, but Van Halen's discography still remains one of the most legendary in rock 'n' roll history.
So let us know which of the songs below is your favorite and then be sure to tune into Loudwire Nights next Monday at 7PM ET to find out which three tracks prevailed.
And just this reminder to tune in tonight to see which Judas Priest songs from last week's poll you voted as your favorites!
